Auf diesem Kanal möchte ich die Hunderasse "Bobtail" oder der Fachausdruck "Altenglischer Hütehund" bzw. "Old English Sheepdog" vorstellen. Für mich gilt: "Einmal Bobtail, immer Bobtail". Ich hatte bis her 3 Old English Sheepdogs und einen Dalmatiner. Es ist ein Irrtum, dass Bobtails sehr pflegeaufwändig sind, weil Bobtails kaum Haare verlieren. Viele andere Hunderassen verlieren ständig Haare, so auch einst mein Dalmatiner Ringo, der 14 3/4 Jahre alt geworden ist. Es war ein sehr lieber Hund, aber seine Haaren waren überall: In der Kleidung, im Haus, im Auto und im Garten. Da konnte man noch so oft bürsten. Da Bobtails ursprünglich Hütehunde waren, haben sie keinen ausgeprägten Jagdtrieb.
