Born and raised in the city of Barrie, PJ fell in love with the old sounds of Motown as a young boy. “My parents always played Smokey Robinson and Marvin Gaye in the house. It’s an era I revisit all the time when it comes to my music.” Inspired by his own father singing at church, PJ enrolled in vocal lessons and began his quest for musical expression. In early 2013, PJ’s management reached out to the Grammy-nominated Kuya Productions and they immediately hit the studio. His first single “Give Goodbye a Try”, produced by Kuya, written by hit-maker Ryan Toby (Usher’s Confessions Album and formerly of R&B group City High) & Canadian R&B Artist Dru Grange, delivers a feel-good, throwback soul anthem.
