DETAILS ABOUT König Pilsener
Im Jahr 1858 gründete Theodor König die König-Brauerei in der niederrheinischen Landgemeinde Beeck, zwischen Duisburg und Wesel. Zu einer Zeit, als man noch auf einfache, obergärige Biere schwor, entschied er sich - gegen den "Trend" seiner Zeit - für die aufwendige Pilsener Brauart. Schon bald stellte sich der Erfolg ein. 1900 belieferte die Brauerei mit einem Ausstoß von fast 50.000 Hektolitern eine ganze Reihe von Orten um Beeck und Duisburg. Im Jahr 1911 wurde die Marke König Pilsener nachweislich das erste Mal erwähnt -- der Rest ist Biergeschichte. Die König-Brauerei gehört seit 2004 zur Bitburger Braugruppe. Damals wie heute fühlt sich die Geschäftsführung der Tradition verpflichtet, die Theodor König vor 150 Jahren begründete: dem Besseren einfach mehr Mühe zu widmen.
