The smash hit first jumped off in the United Kingdom, becoming #1 in Belgium, Canada, France and the Netherlands, then climbing the US Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Dance Club Play charts.  It was certified gold in France, Germany and the Netherlands. The 1994 blockbuster single sold nearly four million copies worldwide. “I Like to Move It” was featured prominently as the theme song in the eternally popular film ‘Madagascar’ and its sequels. It was also included in the motion picture ‘Saving Silverman’ and as the theme for the video game ‘Miami Nights: Singles in the City.’ On the international front the song was used in ads for the National Basketball League in Australia and products in the UK. In the US, the celebrated club classic was used in ads to push sales for McDonald’s, Dunkin’ Donuts and Jeep.
