"Holtzclaw started as an art band/circus/monstrosity and grew from there. They played all over Murfreesboro and Nashville from '97-'99 until its inevitable self destruction. Shows typically featured nudity, fire, pyrotechs, chainsaws, pinatas, foul language, costumes, jugglers, freeform jazz, the occasional midget, drugs and alcohol and guest intros from members of the 'other' music community of Nashville. Those who saw Holtzclaw remember their experience to this day, members of Holtzclaw barely remember anything about that period of time." - from the book "The Other Side of Nashville" Holtzclaw's first new album in 13 years (Chili Room/Pussy Room) was released in October of 2013. Their follow up album (This Tape Is Drunk) was released 11/12/14.
