1977 Yılında Tokat’ta Dünyaya gelen Nilüfer Sarıtaş, Üniversiteye kadar yaşamını burada sürdürdü. Lise yıllarında okuldaki müzik faaliyetlerinin yanında, bazı Sivil Toplum Örgütlerinde koro çalışmalarına katılarak, müzikle iç içe bir dönem geçirdi. 1997 yılında Ege Üniversitesi Türk Musikisi Devlet Konservatuarı Temel Bilimler Bölümünü kazanıp İzmir’e gelen Nilüfer Sarıtaş, eğitimine devam ederken, derslerinden arta kalan zamanların da çeşitli sivil toplum örgütlerinde gönüllü koro şefliği yaptı ve solo dersler verdi. Okul yıllarında, TRT İzmir radyosunun açtığı bir yarışmaya katılarak ikinci olmuştur. Beş yıllık Lisans Döneminin ardından Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsünde Tezsiz Yüksek Lisans Yapıp İstanbul’a yerleşti.
