After a show, a man came up to me and said: "I could not find a song giving hope to prisoners, can you write one?" I wrote the song "Is Your Heart?" singing to prisoners: "Whatever you've done, whatever happened, there is hope, love, and new life outside these walls." That song led me to many who were not in jail but imprisoned in their past. Many needed to be forgiven. Many needed to forgive. They emboldened me to write songs unchaining and setting them free. I became their Lifesong Writer. Subscribe now, so you can experience the making of each song. Post your ideas as we hear a story, write the lyrics and compose the melody.
