Anderson Santana ou melhor 16 Beats, nascido e criado no bairro de Pernambués teve o primeiro contato com a música negra com seus 12 anos, incentivado pelos seus primos mais velhos, que já tinham raízes e experiências musicais e que também já tocavam instrumentos tipo violão, guitarra, bateria, dentre outros instrumentos. 16 quando mais novo logo se sentiu atraído em tocar percussão e bateria. Porém com o passar do tempo sentiu que seu dom era outro, o dom do encaixe das palavras e das rimas. Rapper de Salvador, militante do Hip Hop, integrante do Coletivo Na Calada. 16 Beats foi resgatado pelo HipHop através do freestyle, escolheu esse mecanismo como válvula de escape para desabafo social e para burlar a matança que existe em seu bairro. Começou participando de Batalhas de rimas importantes na cidade de Salvador, dentre elas: Briga de Vira-Lata, Mais Um Mcs, Real Mc, Cabeça Cara e também foi campeão baiano 4 vezes, nas edições de batalhas do 3° Round Circuito de Rima Improvisada.
