Bambini nel Deserto (BnD) è nata nel 2000 con l'obiettivo di migliorare, attraverso azioni dirette e concrete, le condizioni di vita dei bambini e delle loro comunità, nel Sahara e nel Sahel. L'attività di BnD si è tradizionalmente dispiegata in tutti i settori d'intervento della cooperazione Internazionale: acqua, cibo e autonomia alimentare, sanità, istruzione e infanzia, sviluppo economico, migrazioni. Col crescere dell'organizzazione, sono cresciuti anche i progetti che oggi sono sempre più programmi di intervento multisettoriali. Dal 2010 BnD interviene anche, come partner di agenzie delle Nazioni Unite, in situazioni di Emergenze Umanitarie (lotta alla malnutrizione, rifugiati, protezione dell'infanzia, ecc.). A oggi BnD ha realizzato oltre 500 progetti, grazie alla dedizione di volontari e di profili professionali qualificati.
