ERNST MAHLE nasceu no ano de 1929, em Stuttgart, Alemanha. Chegou ao Brasil em 1951. Exerce um extenso trabalho em prol da juventude. Idealizador do "Concurso Jovens Instrumentistas", foi vice-presidente da Sociedade Brasileira de Música Contemporânea, membro da Academia Brasileira de Música (cadeira nº 6) e co-fundador de uma das maiores escolas de música do Brasil. Críticos de arte atestam a qualidade de sua música, sendo reconhecido por sua técnica irrepreensível. Como compositor foi premiado como 1o. colocado em vários concursos e é internacionalmente conhecido pela magnitude e valor de seus trabalhos em prol da educação musical e de suas obras.. Volta de 2000 composições, figuram obras para todos os instrumentos de orquestra; música de câmara para as mais variadas combinações; concertinos e concertos; obras para canto, coro, Orquestras de Câmara e Sinfônica, Ballet e 3 Óperas: Maroquinhas Fru-Fru (1974), A Moreninha (1980) e O Garatuja (2005).
