Esperanza mía es una comedia romántica que cuenta la historia de amor prohibido entre Julia Albarracín (Lali Espósito) y Tomás Ortiz (Mariano Martínez). Julia es una joven de 21 años que vive en La Merced -un pequeño pueblo del interior- junto a su madre adoptiva Blanca, que trabaja como operaria en una fábrica. A raíz de la contaminación que genera la propia planta, Blanca contrae una grave enfermedad. Empeñada en descubrir el origen de este mal -que también aqueja a otros compañeros de la fábrica- la mujer consigue unas pruebas contundentes que incriminan a los dueños. Pero la enfermedad -ya avanzada- resulta ser letal y, antes de morir, Blanca le entrega la documentación a Julia, rogándole que se la lleve lo antes posible a un abogado que reside en Buenos Aires. En su periplo hacia la gran ciudad, Julia conoce por casualidad a Tomás, un joven sacerdote que regresa a sus pagos tras cuatro años de ausencia. Ambos no podrán quitarse los ojos de encima durante todo el trayecto.
