Mike Titlebaum is a saxophonist, composer, arranger, and director of jazz studies at the Ithaca College School of Music, where he directs the Jazz Ensemble, teaches jazz saxophone and several other jazz topics including arranging, improvisation, repertoire and pedagogy. He is the author of "Jazz Improvisation Using Simple Melodic Embellishment" published by Routledge in 2021, and is co-editor of “Teaching School Jazz: Perspectives, Principles, and Strategies” published by Oxford University Press in 2019. He has published compositions and arrangements through Advance Music, Lorenz (Heritage Jazz Works), and GIA Publications. Titlebaum has given workshops at numerous conferences, including JEN, NYSSMA, NYSBDA, and TMEA. He has played with dozens of world-renowned artists and in many of NYC's famous venues, including the Blue Note, Smalls, the former CBGB's and the pit of "Cats" at the Winter Garden Theater, and with the Rochester Philharmonic and Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestras.
