Com a mesma mestiçagem que caracteriza o povo Santomense, descendem de Cabo-verdianos, portugueses e angolares transportando em si uma diversa herança cultural que os conduziu à paixão pela música. Calema significa uma especial ondulação na costa Africana, como as ondas ao chegar a praia trazem consigo sempre alguma coisa. Os Calema trazem : música, sorriso, emoções, cultura e o sol santomense.
