"The Network of the Ecumenical Patriarchate for Pastoral Health Care" The "Patriarchal Network" was formed in 2008 by decision of the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and with the blessings of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. The Network consists of permanent representatives of the Metropolises belonging spiritually and administratively to the Patriarchate, and representatives of the other Patriarchates and the Autocephalous Orthodox Churches, those that are responsible for pastoral education in the Theological Schools and Ecclesiastical Academies in Greece and abroad, as well as others that serve and are related to the pastoral care of the sick and medical care in the sensitive area of health. The "Patriarchal Network" liaises with other Christian denominations and with other agents that concern themselves with health care. The "Patriarchal network" has an educational and socio--medical character.
