Azərbaycan Milli Konservatoriyasının yaranma tarixi. Azərbaycan Respublikası Prezidenti Heydər Əliyevin 2000-ci il 13 iyun tarixli qərarı ilə “Azərbaycan Milli Konservatoriyası”nın təsis edilməsi haqqında xüsusi fərman verilib. Bir il sonra Prezident Heydər Əliyevin 10 avqust 2001 ci il tarixli “Azərbaycan Milli Konservatoriyasının maddi-texniki bazasının yaradılması haqqında” verdiyi geniş sərəncamına əsasən Azərbaycan Milli Konservatoriyasının tərkibinə Bakı Musiqi Kolleci və Respublika İncəsənət Gimnaziyası daxil edilib. Bu sərəncama əsasən Konservatoriyanın rektoru, Xalq Artisti Siyavuş Əşrəf oğlu Kərimi təyin edilib. Azərbaycan Milli Konservatoriyasının professor-müəllim heyətinin tərkibi xalq çalğı alətləri üzrə peşəkar musiqiçilər, dirijor, xanəndə, tanınmış musiqişünas, bəstəkar və ictimai fənlər sahəsində ən öndə olan görkəmli şəxsiyyətlərdən ibarətdir.
