Hertfordshire Chicken Save bears witness to chickens going to slaughter using a love based community approach. Hertfordshire Chicken Save is working together with Manchester Pig Save and other Save groups in the UK and around the world to expose the cruelty behind the animal industries. We formed after gaining inspiration from Manchester Pig Save, which was the first Save group to be formed in the UK. At HCS, we focus on chickens used in the meat industry. We will hold vigils for these chickens by following their journey of transportation to the slaughterhouse. By bearing witness together, we expose the suffering of animals that is usually so hidden from view. The goal is to inspire more people to be compassionate, go vegan and become more active in making the world a better place for animals. The vigils are non-violent, and inclusive. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
