Aufgewachsen im alten Wiener Arbeiterbezirk Ottakring haben die Geschwister Esra und Enes Özmen im Hip Hop das perfekte Medium gefunden, um Gehör zu finden und der eigenen Lebenswelt mit all ihren Konflikten Anerkennung zu verschaffen. Seit mittlerweile 8 Jahren bilden die beiden das Duo EsRAP und beschäftigen sich in ihren gemischt deutsch/türkischen Texten mit Fragen der Identität, dem Fremdsein im eigenen Land als Kinder der dritten Generation, die am eigenen Leib erfahrene Notwendigkeit des Aufbegehrens, Rap als Widerstand und auch dem Frausein in der männerdominierten Hip Hop Welt. Im Gegensatz zur üblichen Rollenaufteilung in dieser steuert Esra die harten und schnellen Reime bei, während ihr Bruder Enes mit seiner feinfühligen Stimme die melodischeren Vokalparts übernimmt. Musikalisch finden EsRAP Inspiration im türkisch- orientalischen Genre Arabeske, das sie gerne mit modernen Beats verbinden.
