Cris Soares é casado há 18 anos com Marlene e tem duas filhas e 1 filho, Carol, Clara e Cris Jr. Há mais de 25 anos é membro do Santuário de Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres e Divina Misericórdia. Em 2016, aos 39 anos de idade, lançou seu primeiro CD “Jesus e Eu”. Quando tinha entre 12 e 13 anos, seu pai deu-lhe um violão de presente e começou a ter aulas particulares. Sendo de uma família católica recebeu todos os sacramentos e já na adolescência começou a tocar em grupos de jovens da paróquia São Francisco de Assis no bairro do Valo Velho. Depois de três anos tocando nesta paróquia foi convidado por um amigo à participar do Santuário de Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres e Divina Misericórdia, em Itapecerica da Serra, onde passou a ter novas experiências musicais e espirituais. Durante mais de 10 anos tocou na banda INRI e depois que esta banda deu uma parada sentiu a vontade de gravar seu próprio CD. Atualmente Cris Soares toca em grupos de oração, retiros, missas e shows.
