Pas op zijn 13e jaar ondekte Gert het orgel. Zonder nog een noot te kunnen lezen maakt hij zich in 2008 de grote Toccata en Fuga van Bach meester vanaf een animatiefilmpje op YT; Een paar video's hiervan werden op YT gedeeld. Verrassend waren de vele reacties en aanmoedigingen vanuit binnen en buitenland. Al gauw volgden nieuwe stappen in zijn ontwikkeling op Youtube. Wat als grap begon, groeide uit tot één van de meest bekeken orgelkanalen ter wereld. Gert houdt zich hoofdzakelijk bezig met zijn studie zowel muziek als maatschappelijk. De vele reacties onder zijn video's kan hij niet allemaal beantwoorden, waar nodig geacht natuurlijk wel. Ondertussen is (via YT) een vriendenclub ontstaan die hem willen stimuleren en verder helpen, waaronder zijn leraar muziektheorie. Met recht mag gezegd worden: zonder hen was Gert niet op zijn huidige niveau geweest! Allen, dank daarvoor !!
