Hello! We are the Neighborhood, a group of 180+ distinct individuals living in one body. We have what is called Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), a coping mechanism that allows our personal identity to be divided as a way to handle the regular and frequent abuse we suffered for the first 17 years of our life. Trauma, such as abuse, is never easy to live with, but it is easier to deal with as a group than as a single person. We hope these videos will help others comprehend us as a system, learn about DID and come away with a better understanding of mental health and (if you have DID, too) your own self. Enjoy!
