Alper Bilgili, 1980 yılında doğdu. 1999 yılında Denizli Anadolu Lisesi’nden, 2004 yılında Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Siyaset Bilimi ve Uluslararası İlişkiler Bölümü’nden mezun oldu. Aynı bölümde Yüksek Lisans çalışmalarını tamamladı. Amsterdam Vrije Üniversitesi’nde sosyoloji ve antropoloji dersleri aldı. Doktora derecesini İstanbul Üniversitesi Sosyoloji Bölümü’nde yazdığı “Sosyal Etkenlerin Bilimsel Bilginin Oluşumundaki Rolünün Analizi: Kuhn ve Güçlü Program Örneği” başlıklı teziyle elde etti. Post-doktora çalışmalarını İngiltere’de, Leeds Üniversitesi’nde, bilim tarihi ve bilim felsefesi alanlarında sürdürdü. Akademik makaleleri ve değerlendirmeleri British Journal for the History of Science, Annals of Science ve Scottish Journal of Theology gibi prestijli dergilerde yayımlanan Alper Bilgili, İngiliz Bilim Tarihi Topluluğu Uluslararası Danışma Kurulu üyesidir.
