Low End University was founded by Mark Michell, an internationally-touring and recording bassist known for his work with Scale the Summit, Tony MacAlpine, Tetrafusion, and Watermox. His most-recent albums were released to Billboard-charting acclaim in the Top 200, Top Rock Albums, Top Independent Albums, Heatseekers Albums, Top Current Albums and Contemporary Jazz Albums categories. For over a decade, Michell has been teaching clinics to students around the globe while on tour, has enrolled thousands of students through Low End University's online bass academy, and has published six method books for bass guitar. 2016 saw the release of his instructional DVD "Advanced Rock Bass" after signing a worldwide publishing deal with Hal Leonard Music Corporation, and later that year was hand-selected to the panel of professors at the Warwick Bass Camp in Germany to teach alongside the best bass players in the world.
