COMA’s melodic innovations between indie and electronica have always been incredibly accessible, unafraid of neither hooks nor emotions, and expanding the scope of what club music can be from album to album. Their new single “The Same” is therefore the next logical step - away from the dancefloor, closer to life. COMA fuse dance music with an indie sensibility rich in melody and melancholy. They may have their roots firmly planted in Cologne’s club scene, but their effervescent, groovy synth-pop blurs the boundaries and pushes far beyond. After a series of releases on Kompakt Records, Marius Bubat and Georg Conrad released “Voyage Voyage” on City Slang in 2019. The album featured songs with verse, bridge and chorus - a first for COMA. Yet it pulsated and immediately captivated the listener. The new structures are also rooted in club culture. After the album and successful single “A Train”, further singles followed, including “Start/Stop/Rewind” and “Beyond You and Me” with Dillon.
