Streaming for Charity: Im dreiwöchigen Livestream-Marathon “LiveForLife | #TheMysteryBox” sammeln mehrere Streamer:innen Geld für den guten Zweck. Doch was ist LiveForLifeTV überhaupt? Seit Juni 2011 existiert die Social-Streaming-Plattform Twitch, die sich hauptsächlich an Gamer richtet. Anders als auf YouTube können die Kanalbetreiber einen Spendenbutton einrichten, über den die Zuschauen sie unterstützen können. Es dauert nicht lange, da kamen die ersten Streamer auf die Idee, ihr Geld an Hilforganisationen zu spenden um etwas Gutes zu tun. Die Ära der Spendenstreams auf Twitch begann. Die Gründer vom Projekt LiveForLife, hatten schon in der Vergangenheit einige Projekte auf YouTube gestartet. Dabei war das Geld nebensächlich und die Unterhaltung und der Spaß sollten immer an erster Stelle stehen.
