Los Van Van es una orquesta cubana fundada el 4 de diciembre de 1969 por el bajista Juan Formell. Se trata de una legendaria agrupación sigue vigente con peculiar sonoridad, manteniendo su sello de identidad, un formato único. Los tonos, las congas, la batería y el timbal marcan la diferencia. Sus letras son consideradas verdaderas crónicas de la sociedad cubana, donde puede hallarse la esencia de este archipiélago. Su éxito ha trascendido la geografía de la isla y es una de las agrupaciones con más reconocimiento a nivel internacional. Tiene un extenso historial discográfico con más de 40 álbumes, muchos de ellos nominados y premiados. Obtuvieron en el año 2000 un Grammy con la producción Permiso que llegó Van Van; y fueron nominados en el año 2017 con el disco La fantasía: homenaje a Juan Formell.
