"I need to weed-mow-fertilize." I get lost in the trenches that need dug, the puddle that has collected around several tomato plants, the list is endless. It makes me want to give up, in an attempt to not look at all the work. Then I open my door, sometimes to a gentle glow, but mostly, I step out with sunblind eyes, and as my vision slowly creeps back to me, I bound forth into a magical land full of storms-bugs-butterflies-birdsongs- Wow! event the weeds are blooming. There are berries, veg, flowers. There are snakes, and small reptiles, enjoying the bounty, along wood strewn paths. My garden is growing in spite of me, because of me. As I stroll, dew wetting my feet, I snag the lambs quarter, threatening to crowd my snapdragons. I snap the limb off of the blueberry bush that has been too long left brown. That rose smells divine, look how it reaches for the sun in eternal praise. That puddle has all but disappeared. This is not work, it is creation, it is life, it is love.
