猫好きイラストレーターの夫婦です。 我が家には昔22歳まで生きたチョキという猫がいました。 亡くなってしまう１年前には緑内障のために全盲になり、我が家では夫婦で交代に眠りながら24時間の介護体制をとって、出来るだけチョキに幸せを感じてもらえるように努力しました。 22年もの間私たち夫婦に幸せをくれていたチョキの最期を快適に幸せに過ごしてもらう事は、当然の事のように思い恩返しでもあると感じました。 今でもあの可愛い顔を思い出すと自然に「ありがとう」という感情がわき上がってきます。 当時のリアルタイムの動画はastakurokenというチャンネルにアップしましたが、今また客観的に高齢猫の介護の記録と解説として夫婦で語り合うと言うスタイルで表現する事にしました。 動物医療の発達とペットフードの進化によって犬や猫の健康の維持が進み寿命が延びているようです。 それは良い事ですが同時に高齢のペットの世話の仕方を知りたい、長生きのペットを幸せに見送りたいと思う方々が増えてきていると感じます。 この試みが少しでも何かの役に立つ事を願っています。
