# About .. DRACULA (VLAD TEPES) -- in ROMANIAN, Vlad's LANGUAGE-- S-a născut în cetatea Sighișoara din Transilvania, ca fiu al lui Vlad al II-lea Dracul și al unei nobile transilvănene. A fost căsătorit de trei ori: întâi cu o nobilă din Transilvania - Cnaejna Bathory a Transilvaniei, apoi cu Jusztina Szilagyi a Moldovei și apoi cu Ilona Nelipic a Valahiei, verișoară a lui Matei Corvin. În timpul domniei sale, Țara Românească și-a obținut temporar independența față de Imperiul Otoman. Vlad Țepeș a devenit vestit prin cruzime și pentru că obișnuia să își tragă inamicii în țeapă. Din porunca sa 41 de oameni au fost executați astfel, iar 300 au fost arși.
